FRANCE - ACS (Attestation de conformité sanitaire / Certificate of Conformity to Health)

A test system introduced in France in 1999 to assess the suitability of a product for contact with water intended for human consumption, in accordance with the provisions of the current legislation.

To date, this system has been applied to accessories and accessory subassemblies consisting of organic materials and objects, as well as at least one organic component that comes into contact with water (See the ministerial circulars dated 12 April 1999, 27 April 2000 and 25 November 2002).

This certificate is issued to confirm that the product complies with the necessary standards and regulations. For example, pipes used for water supply, such as water tanks with a capacity of over 10 m3, PVC, PP, PE pipes, their unions, fittings, pipe sleeves and pipe seals require ACS.

According to Article R*.1321-52 of the General Health Law, only regulatory authorities or certification bodies (laboratories) authorized and assigned by the Ministry of Health can issue and implement ACS.

Before issuing this certificate, a comprehensive assessment and testing is usually required to ensure that the product complies with applicable health and safety standards, including manufacturing processes, ingredient specifications, labeling requirements and other relevant criteria.

It is very important to have a Health Conformity Certificate (ACS) as it is proof that the product complies with the required quality and safety standards; it will also provide assurance to consumers and regulators, in particular, that the product is suitable for consumption or use.

The certificate is valid for 5 years after issuance.

Brittany – WRAS (Water Regulations Approval Scheme)

A certificate of conformity for products and materials that come into contact with water. This document originated in the UK and is widely used and accepted by the majority of European countries. The certificate will be mandatory for imports to the UK. Although it is not mandatory in other European countries, some institutions require that the products they purchase have this certificate.

– WRAS product approval. This type of document is issued for products with mechanical parts such as boilers and valves. When applying for this certificate, the WRAS approval that has already been issued for the materials used in the product can speed up the process.

– WRAS material approval. This approval is required for materials used in mechanical parts such as rubber or paint. If you are a manufacturer of such goods, this certificate will give you easy access to the international market and global trade.

WRAS application process:

In order to receive WRAS approval, products must undergo testing in an authorized laboratory. If the test result shows that the product cannot be harmful to health, you can get the certificate for 5 years. As a rule, the process from the moment of application to the moment the certificate is issued takes approximately 15 days. You may find it beneficial to apply for WRAS certification for more than 1 product at this time. If you would like to receive a quote and more information about the conditions, please contact us.

TZW (KTW Certificate) Technologiezentrum Wasser / Kunststoff-Trinkwasser Certificate)

KTW certificate is a well-known certificate in the context of drinking water hygiene and materials in contact with drinking water. It is issued by the German Environmental Agency (Umweltbundesamt, UBA) and guarantees that materials and products used in drinking water systems are safe and do not pose a risk to human health.

Key Points about KTW Certificate:

Purpose: KTW guidelines assess the suitability of materials (e.g. plastics, elastomers, metals, coatings) that come into contact with drinking water. The aim is to prevent contamination and ensure water quality.

Test: Products are tested for:

Transmission of substances into the water (e.g. chemicals, heavy metals).,

Taste and odor changes in the water.

Microbial growth on the surface of the material.

Application: KTW certificate is generally required for:

Pipes, fittings, seals and valves.

Water treatment components.

Plumbing materials.

Regulation: The KTW guidelines are part of the German DVGW (German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water) standards and are widely accepted in Europe.

Global Importance: While KTW certification is primarily a German standard, it is often referenced or required in other countries due to its rigorous testing and reputation for ensuring safety.

If you are interested in obtaining KTW certification for a product or need more specific information about the process, please contact us.

Egyptian Certificate of Conformity

bt_bb_section_bottom_section_coverage_image
https://sosyalsirket.com.tr/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/fluid_hero_04.jpg

Egyptian Certificate of Conformity

As requested by the General Organization of Export and Import Control of Egypt, manufacturers and distributors are required to register all the goods subject to mandatory regulation to be exported to Egypt.

One of the most commonly applied methods to verify the conformity of the goods subject to mandatory regulation to Egyptian standards is the testing of product samples by an accredited laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025) together with physical surveillance in the country of origin before loading. According to this regulation, the surveillance certificate should be issued before any shipment of goods.

The verification process can be represented by the following steps:

  1. Application, including submission of requested documents – packing list, current test reports (by an ISO 17025 Accredited Laboratory), product data sheet and descriptions, proforma invoice and other documents upon request
  2. Evaluation of documents and sample testing (if necessary)
  3. Physical surveillance when all goods are ready
  4. Submission of final documents – Certificate of Origin, Health Certificate, BL, commercial invoice etc. upon request.
  5. Issuance of the Egyptian certificate of conformity

Our company can assist you in obtaining the certificate of conformity for Egypt and explain all the relevant details.

Ethiopian Certificate of Conformity

bt_bb_section_bottom_section_coverage_image
https://sosyalsirket.com.tr/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/fluid_hero_04.jpg

Ethiopian Certificate of Conformity

It is a mandatory document for exporters shipping products to Ethiopia. It includes 124 standards, the list of regulated goods prepared by the Ethiopian Ministry of Commerce. The standards cover, but are not limited to, the following product groups: food products, construction materials, solar energy equipment, chemical products, electrical products, rubber and plastic products, textiles and leather products. Depending on the type of exporter, one of the following valuation paths is applied: А Exporters with irregular (rare) product shipments. This path requires evaluation of documents, surveillance and testing. B Exporters with regular (rare) product shipments. Products must be registered. Document evaluation with inspection is required. C Exporters with regular and large product shipments. A product license is provided and is expected to be reviewed periodically. Random testing is also required. The final step in each of the above-mentioned assessment routes is the issuance of a Certificate of Conformity. If the Ethiopian Certificate of Conformity is not provided during customs inspection, the products are subject to local conformity verification procedures, resulting in delays in delivery and increased costs for the importer.
