A test system introduced in France in 1999 to assess the suitability of a product for contact with water intended for human consumption, in accordance with the provisions of the current legislation.

To date, this system has been applied to accessories and accessory subassemblies consisting of organic materials and objects, as well as at least one organic component that comes into contact with water (See the ministerial circulars dated 12 April 1999, 27 April 2000 and 25 November 2002).

The PECAE program is a Conformity Assessment Program implemented to control the quality of products to be imported into Cameroon.
