The main goal of ISO 45001 is to eliminate occupational health and safety concerns experienced globally. This standard aims to ensure the safety of employees in every sector, regardless of whether the business is small or large.

The ISO 45001 standard provides guidance to companies in the processes of identifying, assessing and managing occupational health and safety (OHS) risks. It helps reduce occupational accidents and diseases while protecting the health and safety of employees.

ISO 45001:2018 will replace the current Occupational Health and Safety Management System Standard, OHSAS 18001. All organizations currently holding the OHSAS 18001 certificate will be required to transition within 3 years from the date of publication of the standard.
